THE 2025 NATIONAL CAPITAL HVAC SKILLS COMPETITION
On Saturday March 29th, 2025, Robidoux Heating & Air Conditioning hosted the 4th Annual National Capital HVAC Skills Competition at our shop facilities in Ottawa, Ontario in support of BGC Ottawa. Participants competed in two divisions, student and pro, and were pitted against the clock, building a gas assembly requiring a range of HVAC knowledge and skills to complete.
The assembly consisted of black iron fittings and copper pipe with flares, which when finished, was pressure-tested at 100psi for one minute. If the pressure test passed, the participant’s time was in the running for one of three valuable tool packages in their division provided by our generous sponsors.
This was the fastest year since the competition began in 2022 and new records were set in both the Student and Professional divisions! It was an exciting and competitive day for the participants, and we’re already looking forward to next year’s event!
2025 COMPETITION RESULTS

THANK YOU, SPONSORS!
Robidoux Heating & Air Conditioning would like to sincerely thank all of the sponsors of the 2025 National Capital HVAC Skills Competition. Your generous support was instrumental in making the event a great success.
The competition showcased the remarkable talent and skill of local HVAC students and professionals, and your contribution directly facilitated this platform for skill development and industry recognition. We were truly impressed by the high level of performance displayed by the participants, a testament to the quality of training and expertise within our field.
Beyond the competition itself, your support enabled us to raise vital funds for BGC Ottawa. Your generosity will have a tangible and positive impact on the lives of local youth in Ottawa, providing them with opportunities and resources they might not otherwise have.
Thank you again for your support. We sincerely appreciate your belief in our mission and your commitment to both the HVAC industry and the Ottawa community.

What is the National Capital HVAC Skills Competition?
The National Capital HVAC Skills Competition is an annual event that provides an opportunity for current HVAC students (or graduates within the last 6 months) as well as technicians with a G3 gas license or higher, to participate in the excitement of a hands-on contest for valuable prizes and to show off their technical abilities.
Participants compete against the clock in a set of tactile tasks that showcase a variety of HVAC skills. The competition will showcase two participant categories: Students and Professionals. We hope this annual event will attract up-and-coming talent and will generate pride and excitement around careers in the HVAC trade.
This event also provides an opportunity to support a local charitable organization: In lieu of a traditional registration fee, we kindly ask participants to make a donation of $20 to support BGC Ottawa. Every dollar raised is donated to the charity and will directly benefit The Boys and Girls Club’s mission to provide vital programs and services to children and youth in vulnerable neighbourhoods. BGC Ottawa provides safe, supportive places where all kids and teens, of all backgrounds, can experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, and develop confidence and skills for life.
